So, the book of Genesis is a musical... It's amazing how influential religion is on the world of music. Just refer to every grammy/CMT/MTV award winner's speech. They would like to thank god for giving them the ability to create what is most likely the equivalent of producing what sounds like every other piece of shit out there today. How blessed they are to be like everybody else. How blessed they are to be taking complete advantage of the masses without them being smart enough to realize it's actually happening.
Who would Buddha like to thank? Would he like to thank the universe? Would he thank anybody?
He wouldn't even accept an award. Why should a person receive an award for doing their job? If you are an entertainer, you should realize that you are in that business to do just that: Entertain. Unfortunately, it's become just that: a business. The world of music has become something that it wasn't meant to be. Music is something that is meant to be shared between people. Most of what is being put out there couldn't even be considered as music. All of the "music" that is produced sounds like everything else that is out there, and the people who are doing something different are getting caught in the tidal wave of shit.
When is comes down to it, if I want to hear a musical about Buddhism, I'm either going to have naked women dancing with him, or I'm going to have to write it myself.
