The website myspace.com has become one of the most popular social websited in the world. One thing that myspace has always been known for is music. So, as a result of the happenings in my last post, Myspace as brought in three major record company's to start selling music off of the artist's web page on myspace. This is intended to compete with the ever growing sales of iTunes. Myspace has brought in Sony BMG, Universal Music, and Warner Music. These companies bring in billions of dollars every year, and now they are being bropught under one giant roof. MyspaceMusic.

    Ben,

So far your posts on the music industry have summarized why things are happening the way they are. Not much room for insight or critical thinking here. Yes, iTunes is surpassing Wal-Mart because i-Tunes is more convenient. I knew that. You can do better.

Start dealing with the harder questions: Is any of this good for the music industry? For artists? For consumers? Does it harm the art form or enhance it? On what values are you basing a judgment of whether these changes are causing harm?

    Where's the BEEF?
